USA Today reported the matchup between (MIami) Carol City and Miami Central was halted late in the fourth quarter after shots were heard. South Florida Sun Sentinel writer Omar Kelly later reported the shots were fired outside the stadium.

Fans headed for the exits while players either dropped to the turf or ran off the field. The stadium was cleared and the game was called with Miami Central leading 36-8 with 2:58 remaining.

No players or coaches were reported injured.
